zrszach
I didn?t think they existed but then I saw this. http://homepage.ntlworld.com/bas/extreme[1].jpg Unless I?m mistaken that?s an Arricam 1000? mag on an Arri 435 extreme. ;) Just something weird I found online. Guest Daniel J. Ashley-Smith
Sorry, had to change the name of the file. The board wouldn't take the link. Premium Member Brad Grimmett Posted December 1, 2004 Premium Member Share Posted December 1, 2004 Actually, that doesn't look like an arricam mag. It looks like a 435 mag.
Premium Member Max Jacoby Posted December 1, 2004 Premium Member Share Posted December 1, 2004 You're right, it is a 100ft 435 mag.
zrszach
I didn?t think that you could get a 1000' mag for the 435 at all. But now that you mention it the Arricam mag does look a little different. Are the 1000ft mags used alot? You don?t really need that much film for an MOS camera do you? Unless it is at really high speed. It seems that you usually see 400? mags. hmm.. Premium Member Max Jacoby Posted December 2, 2004 Premium Member Share Posted December 2, 2004 They are useful is weight and space are not that much of a consideration, because you need to reload less. I did some 2nd Unit on a Greenscreen recently and we put a 1000ft mag on the crane because of that reason.
Premium Member Brad Grimmett Posted December 2, 2004 Premium Member Share Posted December 2, 2004 If you're shooting at 150fps and doing long takes the 1000 footer is very handy.

Thanks Ashley Message #2 (Posted by Daniel): Sorry, had to change the name of the file. The board wouldn't take the link. New Link to the picture If you compare them, it looks to me as if you where correcting yourself on the first post in the second one. Message #2 says "Sorry, Had to change the above name of the file", and if Daniel posted that, that would assume that he wrote the first message too. But it is by zrszach. Am I seeing things? Or what? Or what? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Ah well you see my REAL name is... ah, nope. Watching too much James Bond. Zach found the picture which he then gave to me to have a look at. He wanted to post it on the board to get opinions, but I don't think he had any web space to upload it to. I uploaded onto my web space, the thing is the link on the first post wasn't complete. If you clicked on it the link wouldn't work, because the rest of the URL isn't hyperlinked. Simply because the board wouldn't hyperlink it all. So I changed the filename to something that the board would take, therefore posting a new link. Edited December 5, 2004 by Daniel J.
