Premium Member John Sprung Posted December 7, 2004 Premium Member Share Posted December 7, 2004 I haven't been able to get this link to work, but it's supposed to be an HR story on Ingmar Bergman releasing his next film -- or sholud that be picture, or movie -- exclusively in digital projection: http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/thr/inter...t_id=1000727930 Ah -- there. I got it to work. It says the picture is a sequel to "Scenes from a Marriage", shot digital, and released digital because Bergman didn't like the look of the 35mm filmout. -- J.S. Or does "released digital" mean direct to home DVD? I hope this doesn't mean using the lower resolution digital projectors currently being used for pre-show advertising, ala the recent AMC experiment with "Final Cut": http://romanticmovies.about.com/od/thefina...alcut093004.htm
Premium Member John Sprung Posted December 7, 2004 Author Premium Member Share Posted December 7, 2004 It was made for TV, so that was their main market. This obviously very limited theatrical release is an ancillary for them. -- J.S.
