Tribeca Panel with Filmmakers to Discuss Creative Process

Eastman Kodak Company, an official Industry Sponsor of the 2009 Tribeca Film Festival, will host a discussion among some of today’s leading directors and cinematographers about their creative processes and the decisions they make to achieve their visual goals.

 

The panel — Tribeca Talk: A Matter of Choice — will take place on April 30 at 2 p.m., and focus on the panelists’ film production experiences. Participants will include: 2009 Tribeca Film Festival filmmakers Damien Chazelle (Guy and Madeline on a Park Bench), Julio DePietro (The Good Guy), and Bette Gordon (Handsome Harry, Variety); cinematographers Stuart Dryburgh (Oscar®-nominated for The Piano) and Fred Elmes, ASC (Blue Velvet, The Ice Storm), and producer and former Tribeca juror Christine Vachon (Killer Films). The panel will be moderated by American Cinematographer magazine’s Patricia Thomson.

The Tribeca Film Festival was founded in 2001 by Jane Rosenthal, Craig Hatkoff, and Robert DeNiro following the attacks on the World Trade Center. The festival is designed to spur the economic and cultural revitalization of Manhattan through a celebration of film, music and culture. Tribeca is well known for being a diverse international film festival that supports emerging and established directors. The festival has screened over 1,100 films from over 80 countries since its first festival in 2002. Since its founding, it has attracted an international audience of more than two million attendees and has generated over $530 million in economic activity for New York City.

 

Now in its eighth year, the Tribeca Film Festival runs from April 22 - May 3.
