Marco Leavitt
Can someone answer this question that's been puzzling me for some time? One common argument against Super 16 is that wider primes will vignette. Yet, doesn't the angle of view also take into account the size of the film plane? In other words, wouldn't a 12mm prime (which is regularly said to be the cutoff) mounted on a Super 16 camera still give a wider angle of view than an 11mm or even 10mm prime mounted on a regular 16mm camera? I'm just wondering if the tradeoff isn't as great as people make it seem.
