Steven Boldt Posted May 12, 2009 Share Posted May 12, 2009 Hello, I picked up a Bogen 501 tripod head and I need a tripod for it. Can anyone recommend a good(and cheap) tripod for this head? The Bogen site doesn't recommend a 190 for this head and the ones they recommend are out of my price range- (about $100). Is the 190 enough for my hobbyist needs? Michael B McGee Posted May 12, 2009 Share Posted May 12, 2009 check the payload of your head and of the sticks you have in mind. if they support the weight of your camera with accessories then that's the right head and sticks for you. i would give yourself a little room though, ie: if your camera with accessories weighs 20lbs, find a head/sticks combo of at least 25lbs, probably 30lbs to be safe. Steven Boldt Posted May 13, 2009 Author Share Posted May 13, 2009 It took a while to sort out the different kinds available. Something like the Induro A213 or 214 looks about right.
