Patrick McGowan
I think Breaking Bad is one of the best shows on TV right now. It has a very interesting raw look with consistently deep shadows and some mixed color temperatures. It looks like it was shot on low ASA film with little color correction. Anyone else here watching it?
Adam Garner
Yeah, the show is rad. I read a while back they shoot on S16... maybe Arri416's? Anyway, it's got a great look, no doubt. And the writing is great!
Premium Member Brad Grimmett Posted May 27, 2009 Premium Member Share Posted May 27, 2009 I believe it's 35mm shot on Fuji with Arricams, but it's been awhile since I heard this, so I could be wrong. It's a great show and extremely dark. I'm just bummed they don't have it on On Demand anymore in HD. The compression on AMC is horrendous. When you see it in HD it will look like a different show. James Compton
It's 35mm. ASC Mag 05/09. KODAK 5201 for exteriors and 5217,5260 and 5219 for interiors.
Premium Member Brad Grimmett Posted May 31, 2009 Premium Member Share Posted May 31, 2009 KODAK 5201 for exteriors and 5217,5260 and 5219 for interiors. I stand corrected. Unfortunately, it could be shot on VHS and look about the same on AMC.
