Kirk Anderson
So I bought myself a new super8 camera at an estate sale today! Eumig 308 Zoom reflex With a roll of kodachrome AND a Macro lens adapter!!!! the best part, no batts left in the camera, clean as a whistle!!! $12 So I loaded her up with batteries and tried a dry run, took a second, but she fired up and started running. I played for 5 min or so and got online to write about it!!! As I was taking the pictures, I heard a little "pop, fizz" I looked at the dog and went on. Then another "pop-fizz" I took the batt compartment off and TWO of 6 AA's had POPPED. I frantically cleaned it all up with a q-tip and paper towel. What happened? .. Also what do you think of the eumig? Pics on flickr eumig
Jim Carlile
Either a short in the camera or bad Ultras, or other high energy AAs that were aggravated by the short.. Try using AA heavy duties next time, not alkalines... and keep checking them as you use them. Watch what happens. Also, some of those Eumigs have that strange battery sleeve-- were they installed correctly?
