having trouble importing HVX200/tape footage into FCP

We are using FCP 6 and trying to import footage shot on tape with the HVX200 but FCP is not recognizing it.

Any help will be appreciated.

P2 footage uses log and transfer but if you recorded to Mini-DV tape with an HVX-200,

are you using straight "capture" ? Check your capture presets; DV NTSC should work.

 

Have you done this before and it worked and now it isn't? If this is your first go, maybe you just have to choose the right capture and sequence settings. Is FCP seeing the HVX-200? Are you using Firewire, not USB? Is your capture camera on VCR and menu items set up okay?

I'm wondering if we need to install Panasonics firmware for the HVX eventhough we are doing tape.

Maybe you have to put it into firewire device mode by pushing and holding the button on the back?
