Portable LCD TV's

Recommended Posts

I'm looking at buying a cheap little (3"-7") LCD monitor for my kit. I've only seen Steadicam Op's use them to record video for their own viewing. I would like to have it so that I can view the exact frame if I'm pulling remotely, as I work on a lot of projects with improvisational directors and DP's.

My problem is that I don't know exactly what specs to look for. I'm sure that SD transmitters such as the Modulus will work with any monitor that can pick up an analog signal, but how about the new HD transmitters. Will I be able to receive the HD signal, even if it's down converted to the size of the monitor.

Again, the only thing the monitor is needed for is to confirm the frame when i'm pulling, so the quality doesn't matter that much, more so battery life, and the ability to pick up signals from wireless transmitters.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Thanks all!
