viktor silfverhjelm
Hello there, My name is Victor, I am a filmmaker from Sweden. Currently I am involved in a project in where we use a lot of single-frame still images, most of them are titles or graphics made in Photoshop etc. The film are not to be projected or viewed in the normal sense of "film", but is actually being showed through a super 8 viewer - hence the single-frame images (its essentally an art installation). So, my question is, what is the best way to get these graphics from the computer onto the film? My first thought was to print them out on A3 and shoot them from there, but since we have so many, I figured it might be possible to just single-frame shoot them from the actual computer screen. But will that work? Will any flickering from the update rate of the computer screen show up on the film? Keep in mind I am only shooting ONE frame. What do you think? Any thoughts would be much appreciated. Thanks. /Victor
Andries Molenaar
Just use a tripod, shoot from the TFT/LCD screen like that use some telephoto, shoot in the dark, some aperture close down and use long exposure like available on some Nizo, Bauer and Leicina cameras. Cannot go wrong :) Processing will take some time but from Sweden Andec-service in Berlin is close by.

Ah, thanks Andries, I guess I will have to try something like that, but without Nizo/Bauer/Leicina. I use a Canon.
