Kirk Anderson
Hey all, So my editor just finished up cutting a music video for me. The band wanted a single location, 1 day shoot, extremely simple music video. They referenced a few other music videos that basically showed the band in a single location. We started at 8am and shot until around 7:30pm in a small studio apartment in San Diego. For equipment we had: HVX - 200 Fire Store 100 SG Pro 35mm Adapter Canon Primes Nice set of sticks 3 x Arri 650w Open Face lights 3 x China balls with an array of photo fills It's shot at 720/60. I shot at 1 stop over knowing we were going to get some noise. This was my 6th or 7th project with an HVX and 35mm adapter. I think i can comfortably say I do not want to shoot with a 35mm adapter other than a P+S technics and PL mount. I'm over these cheapo adapters, canon and nikon primes from the 70's. They eat light, about 2 stops in my calculations, and I'm frustrated with the back focus issues. All in all, in the future I'll be pushing for more DSLR, RED, and of course film. If and when I do shoot with HVX/EX1's3's etc, I'll push a little harder to use the stock lens and not cheapo 35mm adapters. Needless to say I'm happy with the video, especially for 1 day, 1 location and $150. This post is pre-color correction which I'm hoping to have someone bring it back a 1-1.5 stops. Let me know any questions you have. I'd be happy to answer. And without further ado. Publicists! - Not Hiding
