Alex Worster
Need to sync an SR3 Advanced to a regular old CRT TV. Arri makes an ESU-1, will that work? If so how do I use it? I found a manual online but it doesn't explain its operation well. Any other ideas aside from the ECU-1? Thanks! Jonathan Bowerbank
Should be able to do it with a simple shutter adjustment, 144º is the magic number :)
Premium Member John Sprung Posted March 15, 2010 Premium Member Share Posted March 15, 2010 The 144º trick is fine if the TV isn't particularly prominent in the shot. It doesn't eliminate the roll bar, it just reduces the size of the roll bar to -- in theory -- zero lines. There's still a horizontal offset. If you're doing a CU of the TV set, that probably won't be good enough. -- J.S.
