friday night lights low con/pull?

so i'm working on a film for a director who has cited the washed out/low contrast look of friday night lights (the feature, not the tv show). to me it looks like the film might have been pulled, or used a low contrast stock.

 

does anyone know what stock/processing might have been used on this film?

 

any knowledge would be highly appreciated.
