Premium Member Keith Walters Posted April 16, 2010 Premium Member Share Posted April 16, 2010 Sorry if this has been posted elsewhere, but I rather think this represents a true and significant milestone in Television production: House season finale shot entirely with Canon 5D Mark II DSLR camera The same text is being repeated word-for-word on various other sites. I can't access Twitter from this computer so I haven't read the "pseudo-interview" yet. Apparently a thread about his was abruptly erased from Reduser. Actually the other day I was asked to shoot a quick explanatory video using a (currently sub-$A100) Canon "Powershot" A590 camera, and I couldn't believe how good the 640 x 480 video quality was. It's stored as 30 megabit/sec DV-AVI so it's very edit friendly and you get over an hour record time on a 16GB SD card. Even on a big screen, the quality of even that would be more than good enough for basic ENG work at least. Sadly the TEN network here currently doesn't broadcast anything in HD apart from their useless "24 hour Sports Channel" so I won't be able to check the House Finale results in full HD.
