Hello David here: I once rented some lights for a job that were Arri knockoffs, Unknown to me until they showed up on the job!..... They worked OK but lacked the quality i was use to with the Arri. I'm not a snob about my lights but if you are planing to invest in this type of light, I would clearly spend a few extra bucks and buy Mole or Arri. You will always be able to get parts and if you ever wanted to sell them you will get a much better price with owning the real thing. The mole stuff is also made in the USA. I have recently bought real Arri lights on e bay in almost new condition for about the same price as some of the knock offs.
