Premium Member Adam Frisch FSF Posted February 5, 2005 Premium Member Share Posted February 5, 2005 I just did a commercial on Expression 500T and the Low Con 1. Impossible to tell in a one light of course, but it looked not much different from any regular setup. Frankly, I couldn't see any difference. I was jst wondering - does anybody use Low Con's regularly? They just feel like these old 70's filters that have fallen out of favor. And with the subtle, imperceptible look, IS there any point in using them? I didn't dare stick the LC 3 on not sure of how it would come out, but i think I might do so next time. Any experiences or suggestions?
Rik Andino
You should check out the Lo-Con 3 cause the 1 might not be that visibly effective I use Ultra-Con 3 for alot of DV work It's good at reducing that flat 2D image video has And creating some depth in the frame without alot of softness The motto goes "Use the Ultra-Con to give video a more film look" I dunno if video will ever have "the film look" But Ultra-Con helps it look less "electronic"<--if that's a proper description I don't use Contrast filters for film but maybe I will I'm shooting some INT. Car scenes soon A contrast filter it might help reduce the contrast between the outside and INT. I dunno the best would be to shoot a test. Anyways Good Luck
