Chris Saul
I'm shooting a music video on the Moviecam LT 35mm camera all which will be shot at 36fps. I'm renting a 1800W Arri HMI Par w/ electronic ballast. Will there be flicker? Do I need to change my shutter angle to compensate? Thanks Chris Saul Los Angeles
Saul Rodgar
I think that is a square wave HMI, which are usually safe at any speed without the need for compensation. Here is a bevy of information provided courtesy of Guy Holt: http://www.cinematography.com/index.php?showtopic=47803

Yes, at least up to the high hundreds or even thousands of frames per second, depending on make and model. They do have rise and fall times, but you need to rent a Phantom or Weisscam to find them. -- J.S.
