Shane M Seibel
Hey everyone, I remember reading somewhere that you can control the actual shapes of reflections in a persons eyes/on their glasses. In theory, you should be able to change a plain white, circular reflection into, say, the shape of light coming through a window. My question is how I can go about doing this. Do I have to mold my light source into that shape or is there another way (because I'll be using the sun)? Thanks in advance, -Shane
Matthew Parnell
When lighting for reflections you are less lighting the reflective surface, rather lighting what is being reflected.
Tom Jensen
Ring lights look very cool for commercials or fashion. John Alonso used a single white Christmas tree light near the camera so he could see a pinpoint source in his actresses eyes.

Thanks in advance, -Shane Can you use a lighting stand with bom arm, a light pointing down on a reflector white or silver side, and use diffusion two layers on the light, gets the nice eye light :) hope this helps
Shane M Seibel
First off, thanks to everyone for their input. I think Tom Jensen nailed it on the head; a ring light is probably the way to go. Thanks! Edited November 2, 2010 by Shane M Seibel
