genevieve Evans
I wanted to shoot a test with my Arri 16S, and just realized that I purchased super 16mm by mistake. I know some standard 16mm cameras will take super 16mm, but I was hoping someone has actually tried it with the Arri's 16S and can tell me if it works or is a complete failure. I don't want to waste 100ft of film.
Premium Member John Sprung Posted December 4, 2010 Premium Member Share Posted December 4, 2010 The difference is whether there are perfs on one edge or both. The Arri's I remember were all fine either way, but the cameras are all so old now that there's the remote chance that some of them may have been modified with 2R sprockets. So, try it. If the film goes thru the camera, it's fine. If the camera tries to punch holes in the other edge, stop. -- J.S.
