monster vs robot Posted February 13, 2005 Share Posted February 13, 2005 wdy, I'm a shooter with little audio experience. I'm struggling with some clipping problems with these new Sennheiser EW100G2 wireless Lav setups. In a normal interview situation a higher modulation in tone makes them clip. I've heard that the DVX brings audio in hot even on Mic in, particularly w/ Sennheiser mics, but it's clipping at -12db and under! It seems that the M4 cardioid mic is super sensitive. It sounds great at a whisper. I've set the Transmitter's sensitivity to -30db and the Receiver's AF out to the same and I'll control the levels on camera. I'm hoping this will help. Seems pretty drastic though. Anyone have this type of problem? I'm also thinking of getting a decent field mixer-$1200 or under. Any recommendations? thanks!
