Alastair Cauldwell
Hi. I just bought a 2nd hand XLH1 and it appears to be stuck on 50i. When flicking the frame rate switch to F1 or F2, the EVF still says HDV50i. I gave the unit a reset and no joy. Is there something I'm missing or is the camera busted? Thanks

Thanks I think you are missing something. I once used a similar canon camera I think it was an XL1A or something like that and it was a bit of a nightmare to find the settings even with the manual. I think there is an option with a really wierd name somewhere like scan mode or frame something hidden away under an unlikely menu but it was a rental camera and I can't remember off the top of my head. It's just a matter of finding that option. I think you will find that F1 and F2 are not a frame rate switch but a sort of preset switch. So probably both presets are set to 50i. You would need to reprogram the presets. love Freya
