Rob Belics
The "real story" of "The Exorcist" happened in one of the buildings I went to college, St. Louis University. The priest who took part in the exorcism died today. Edited March 3, 2005 by Rob Belics
Landon D. Parks
I figured he died a long time ago. Wasn't he older back when he proformed the exorcism? That was like 1940's or something!
Matt Pacini
I read a good article, (I think in Newsweek) last year, about this case, the whole background for the Exorcist book, movie, and the whole surrounding conecpt of posession, etc.. Interesting thing is, that the 14 year old "posessed" boy, was the only supposed "demon posession" case reported in several centuries. After the movie came out, there immediately were thousands of reported cases popping up of demon posession, and it's kept up ever since. A case of mass hysteria if you ask me, and it goes to show how much cultural things quickly turn into "things we know are true" and we assume they've been that way since the beginning of time. I found that fascinating. Matt Pacini Edited March 3, 2005 by Matt Pacini
Premium Member Josh Hill Posted March 6, 2005 Premium Member Share Posted March 6, 2005 Landon, He was 27 when the exorcism took place in 1949 and died at the age of 83. (The math was quite easy to do.) Later, Josh
