Schools providing specialisation and intensive courses in 'Cinematography ' in Canada

i am planning to study cinematography in Canada the comming year . can u please suggest me some exceptionally good collages providing an intensive course in cinematography (just a cinematography course mabe for a year or 2 or more but just specialisation in the field ) because i cannot find any universities providing courses solely for cinematography ALONE.. thanks.. thanks alot for reading... if u can help me out it, will be a great help for me and my career!!..

Concordia University has one of the best filmmaking programs out there. And it's in Canada's best city. For Toronto, I hear Ryerson is pretty good.

cause i have spoken to the recruitment director there and he told me that they have a film production course and this 18 months diploma course will specialize in cinematography, so i am very keen on taking on the course because of the specialization so should i go for the school is it worth, guys please give me your reviews!!

Can you give more info about this school, and share your opinion on this school(if you know anything about their equipment and facilities). I'm looking for a decent film school in Toronto, but unfortunately live in russia and can't visit schools right now. My focus is cinematography and camera department, especially digital equipment like RED, ALEXA etc.

i have the exact similar goal of yours, and even i want to pursue cinematography but the thing is this school provides an over all view over film production and and has a little special side over cinematography over different semesters.

The best thing for any prospective student to do is to contact each school directly. Asking for specific advice from a forum won't necessarily get you all the information you need. Look through each school's website first, then contact those that seem to be relevant to what you're looking for. Ask LOTS of questions because any school will try to sell you on why they are the best choice even if they are not. Don't stop there... ask about alumni and try to contact some of them. Once you've whittled the list down, actually go and visit the schools and try to talk to current students about their experience.

 

Remember, YOU are the customer and are paying for a service. It's important that you are getting the "product" that you're paying for so it's up to you to do the homework to find out first what's best before you make any decisions that will cost you in money and time.
