Chun Ming Huang
Hi, I am a cinematographer, not knowing much about Final Cut Pro, but I have a weird problem, hoping someone can help out. Shot this project on Sony F3 with the NanoFlash box, so you get ProRes 4-2-2. Everything plays fine in Quicktime in terms of brightness and color. But once I get it into Final Cut Pro (ver 7.0), ALL the videos turned extremely DARK. Some to the point where I cannot see them. I figured it's got nothing to do with the monitor calibration since it looks fine in QT. There's got to be something I am not doing right in FCP. Has anyone run into this problem before? Please see the two comparison with the link provided. The brighter one is from QT and darker one is from FCP. I have NOT done anything for adjustments. FCP vs. QT Many thanks in advance! Jeremy Ables
I saw Tony Reale a YouTube host do a post about this very issue and I believe the first commenter had a solution that might work or at the very least the article will give you an idea of what is happening hope it helps. http://www.nextwavedv.com/analyze-the-frame-reviewing-your-video-footage-on-your-computer/ Jeremy A.
