Max McAdams
I have been instructed that a Zeiss 10mm lense is T2 while the Cannon 10mm is T2.8. I have also been warned not to choose the wrong lense, out of the those two, for my shoot on Wed. as it will effect the outcome drastically. I am a director slowly feeling out steady ground in the complex technical aspects of cinemetography. (I tell you this because I'd probably be one pathetic DP if I were asking this question.:) Thank you. Maxwell T. McAdams Director/Lmsd Tv Prod. Robert Hughes
I don't know about the specific pieces of glass you have, but in general, a T2 lens is one stop more sensitive than a T2.8 lens, meaning you can get a properly exposed image with slower film or with less light. Other than that, both Zeiss and Canon make good lenses (the edge probably would go to Zeiss). You should carefully inspect each lens to make sure that neither is damaged or out of calibration.
