Premium Member Rich Steel Posted April 6, 2005 Premium Member Share Posted April 6, 2005 Can't comment on Dr Who but I was fortunate enough to work with Ernie in the first series of BBC's Drama Sea Of Souls as steadicam Operator. I believe they were originally going to shoot HD on the series as Sony were willing to sink cash into the project but Ernie insisted on film. Premium Member John Sprung Posted April 6, 2005 Premium Member Share Posted April 6, 2005 So, Tim, how was the new show? The charm of the original Dr. Who was that it showed what fine writing and fine acting can do on a very low budget. I hope this new series lives up to the old. -- J.S. Rachel Oliver
Hi; I saw two so far, I'd say it does live up to it's "lo-fi" vibe but I can't help wondering if this latest generation of minds will simply miss that point and see it as well.... just crap!? I have to say I thought League Of Gentlemen was far more interesting visually, this looks a bit like deep space nine or something but I'm still watching. Simon Wyndham
The McCoy season was not the best. However it did have one of the best Dalek storylines so far.
