Arri moviecam compact

Hi all

I am focus puller for a production shooting 2 days from tomorrow. Clapper loader has bailed out so ive gotta help the camera operator load etc. The camera i will be using is a 35mm Arriflex moviecam compact. I have only loaded Arriflex 16 bl and sr2 16mm cameras for my own work so im not sure about the loading of this particular camera. Can't find a manual or loading diagram anywhere and needless to say i couldn't buy one in time for the morning anyway.

I suppose i am asking if the loading of this camera is similar to another such as the 435 etc which i can find diagrams for.

I would appreciate any help or advice offered from this forum.

The Compact magazines load like the 435 magazines (9P), however you do not need to form the loop into the correct size since that is adjusted while lacing the camera.

Thanks for replying to my post so quickly and thanks for the advice. I now feel a bit more confident being able to see a diagram if problems arise. Will let you know how i get on.

Make sure you tell the 1st that you've never loaded those mags before. That way he can help you out if you need it and double check the first few mags you load so that there aren't any big blunders. If you screw up and haven't told him it's your first time you'll most likely be fired.
