Does it harm my C8 to keep it in tension for 2000 single frame shots for next 3 months

I will recieve a c8 in few days and want to shoot 2000 single frames for next 3 months. I ask does it harm the springs to keep the camera under cranked tension or what is your advise ?

In theory, no. The spring should never be pushed into the range of plastic deformation, if the engineers at Bolex did their jobs right. However, it is likely approaching 60 years old. The springs aren't what they once were. That said, C8s are fairly cheap (I picked one up for $20 a while back) and you might as well give it a shot.
