Timecode Problems

Hey all -

 

quick question: I'm working with a DVX100A loaner and have run into a strange problem. Trying to shoot in 24PA mode, timecode runs find while recording, but trying to view footage that i (apparently) have just shot, i get no signal on the tape, while the timecode counter stays static with a display looking like TC*00:00:00.

 

any thoughts?

Try other modes, like 60i, etc. If you get the same problem in all cases, then I'd suspect that there's dirt on the head that records longitudinal code.
