Greetings,

Shooting in low light with an XL?

Try this: Turn the shutter down to 1/30 and switch to "Normal" mode. It'll give you a motion look similar to "Frame" mode and allow you that little bit of extra exposure. 1/30 in "Frame" mode is stroby and has a noticable motion blur. Switching to "Normal" at 1/30 smooths out the strobe look but leaves a subtle motion blur that looks more like "Frame" mode than "Normal" mode.

Let us not forget the extra resolution you gain by not going to frame mode.

When decreasing shutter speed to 1/30th, if I'm not mistaken, the camera must still discard and interpolate one of the fields. When using Frame Mode, the green pixel offset aids interpolation - not sure if it's the same with a slow shutter.
