Element Technica Hybrid Bridge Plate?

Hi Guys,

 

I've whittled down my 19mm Bridge Plate options, to a final two. I've been offered a good deal on an Element Technica Hybrid Bridge Plate, and I'm wondering if anyone can comment on how it compares to the Arri BP-8?

 

I'd certainly like to save money if I can, but if the quality and performance doesn't add up, then there's little point to my mind.

 

Any input would be appreciated.

I think it's fine, especially for the price. The nice thing is that you can switch between Studio 15/19 with just a few parts, or even remove the rod brackets to reduce weight as needed. That said, it is chunkier and longer than a BP-8 and not as strong since it's modular. But I think it's fine for F55, I haven't noticed any flex with a fully kitted C300 Mk2 which would be of similar weight to your setup. If I was shooting with a heavier camera like an F65/Alexa/435 I would personally stick with the BP-8.
