Andrew Russo
I'm putting together a test hopefully in a week or so over at Radiant Cameras in LA, but does anyone have any experience shooting with the Codex Action Cam? I'm trying to do a POV shot a la Strange Days (1995) with the camera mounted to a head rig and the recorder, batteries, etc strapped to a vest. The shot will be going from a night ext to night int and will be lit, but with a low light feel so light sensitivity is important. If so, here are a few questions I have: 1) How does the camera perform in low light? 2)How is the dynamic range on the camera? 3) I know there are Kowa c-mount mini lenses you can get for it, but any other type of mini lenses that will work with the camera and are still lightweight since it's on the ops head? 4) How does the footage cut with Alexa 2k in terms of color space and dynamic range? 5) Any other small, POV cameras worth testing? Thanks! Best, Andrew
Premium Member Mark Kenfield Posted July 15, 2016 Premium Member Share Posted July 15, 2016 I'd suggest watching Under the Skin with Scarlett Johansson. They intercut a large amount of Codex footage with Alexa for that (the Codex were used for the bulk of the van/pick-up scenes). I've heard only good things about them (for the size and specification).
