Dorian Weber
UPDATE INFORMATION:I know when somebody see my post of selling the RED PL Mount, and he reads that I - and the mount is located in Tokyo...... far away.. too far, even to consider to buy it. Therefore, I am planning to come this October or in November to Los Angeles, and if I have somebody seriously interested, I will gladly be bringing the mount with me to LA! Gregg MacPherson
Dorian, I can't find the webpage with pics from the URL you gave....? Why does the mount need to be titanium? Stainless is already expensive enough... What lens does the mount fit to....? Edited October 15, 2016 by Gregg MacPherson
Gregg MacPherson
I tried to make your URL work, and found images of what look like a hard mount for a Red camera. Why not just make this explicitly clear at the begining....?
Dorian Weber
Gregg, I am sorry for any miss understandings. I think, something got lost in the posting. Dorian
Gregg MacPherson
Dorian, no problem. I didn't see what you were doing at first. But the question is still there...why does one need titanium..? Is it solid titanium? For which parts..? Cheers, Gregg.
Dorian Weber
My apologies for a posting a missing part! The Heading should read: For Red Epic, Scarlet or Dragon: PL Mount Titanium New
Dorian Weber
Gregg, a Titanium Mount is far more durable. And since all PL Mount lenses are far more heavy than still camera lenses, it makes sense to use a Titanium Mount. As far as I know, RED never bothered to make an aluminum mount because of that. Cheers Dorian
Gregg MacPherson
I don't think that a comparison between titanium and aluminium is that meaningful. What are the lens ports on Arri, Sony etc cameras made of? If they have all switched to titanium... my applogies.. Is your mount made entirely of solid titanium...? (asking the second time). Dorian Weber
I don't know about the other mounts. Well, I think they machined it from one piece of Titanium. Are you a RED user?
Gregg MacPherson
No, I'm not. Saw your other adverts for red stuff later. I suppose I should have figured it out all on my own. Still curious about what the materials for the mount are. The word "titanium" has glamour, in both a positive and negative sense.... I'll let you get back to selling your item... Gregg MacPherson
Dorian, I don't know. It's outside my sphere of curiosity. Sorry.
