Doggicam Releases Super Slide and Carbon Arm Dolly

The Super Slide offers a rail system and precision controlled dolly capable of high speed and high acceleration. When mounted to the dolly, Doggicam?s Sparrow Head, operated through Doggicam?s FCC licensed integrated radio link, provides precise control of the shot.

 

The Super Slide offers the capability to move the camera with precision and high speed over long distances. The dolly is fully captive on the rail system and can be under slung or over slung. The dolly?s custom precision wheels capture the rails with such close tolerance as to provide zero lateral movement between the dolly and rails. The positive fit between dolly and rail provides an extremely stable platform for the Sparrow Head under the high acceleration and speed capable with the Super Slide. Even using a 24? riser and 3? Ubangie to off-set and under sling the Sparrow Head the system is completely stable throughout it?s move.

 

Constructed of Aluminum Honeycomb and Carbon Fiber, the rail system offers a light weight yet extremely rigid structure. The 8? rail sections and can be joined together to extend a move over 100 feet.

 

An 8? section of rail weighs just 24 pounds and is capable of supporting 500 pounds with less than .050? deflection. Rail sections are 10? wide and provide secure mounting points every 12? along their length. The sled is 12? wide and can pass through a 12.5? opening. The sled is currently capable of speeds up to 36? per second and can accelerate from 0 to 20 feet per second in one second. The control system offers precise setting of start and end marks as well as ramp speeds to allow smooth control of the shot.

 

The Super Slide can provide camera movement at speed and with acceleration previously unattainable in light weight mobile dolly system. The lightweight nature of its components and integrated mounting points allows the Super Slide opportunities for precisely controlled camera movement in a wide variety of situations to create high speed dynamic dolly shots.

 

The Carbon Arm Dolly combines the light weight radio controlled dolly system based on the Power Slide mounted with the JDM carbon arm rigging system. Doggicam Systems Power Slide can provide radio controlled dolly moves while mounted to a moving vehicle up to ½ mile away. The combination of the carbon arm rigging and the lightweight rigid track allows the quick and secure mounting of the Sparrow Head and dolly to provide moves that start at one end of the vehicle and traverse the length of the car or start close on the nose badge and move up and away to see the whole car. Moves can start inside the car and travel to a cantilevered position off the side of the car. The camera could even pass through the vehicle from one side to the other. Under slung rigs can provide dolly moves with the lens inches from the road to create dramatic moves. The rigging and dolly system provides capabilities to create shots previously only possible with the limitations of a process trailer. Allowing the vehicle to freely drive through traffic at speed allows freedom of movement of the car as well as the camera.

 

Doggicam Systems will shortly be able to offer the integration of a full motion capture and play back capability for the dolly, head and camera.
