Mixing warm and cool tubes in Kino-order of the tubes

Recommended Posts

While mixing warm tubes with cool tubes in a 4x4 Kino, does the order of warm and cool makes any difference?

I am numbering the tubes 1,2,3,4 from top to bottom in horizontal position.

Case1

I am mixing 1 warm tube with 3 cool

1-cool, 2-warm, 3-cool, 4-cool preferable? or warm at either 1 or 4 position?

Case-2

I am mixing 2 warm tubes with 2 cool

1-cool, 2-warm, 3-warm, 4-cool preferable? or warm at 1 and 4 positions?

Please share your suggestions.

Generally you would alternate the colored tubes but it also depends on if you get a ballast that has four individual switches or just a choice between 2 or 4 tubes being on, so in that case where you have only one tube that is different from the other three, you'd have to decide if you wanted the 2-tube mode to contain one of each color.

There are no rules, do whatever you want creatively. Just keep in mind that as tubes are switched off one by one, the color mix can change.

Also keep in mind that sometimes the barn doors can close down too much and block some of the light of the tube that is nearest that barn door.
