I'm a super newB that is slowly (and dirt-cheaply) trying to gear up. Since I am primarly at "hobbyist" level at the moment, I'm having trouble justifying to myself and others, spending $3k to $5k on a semi-pro DV camera... until I came accross this ad...

an XL2 for $1500?

 

Am I missing something (or just being plain old stupid)? It claims it comes with zoom-lens and all. Scam site? Or, are the mainstream stores just price gouging?

 

Please enlighten me... I will be greatful.

Thought that was probably the case. Thanks for the reseller review site... I have trouble finding a good one.

Whoa!

 

That price just doesn't pass the "smell test," and with that kind of consumer satisfaction rating, you have to wonder if they're EVER shipped an XL2 at that price. My guess would be that they have not.

 

Time to drag out the old adage "if it sounds too good to be true, it probably is."
