Matthias Biber
The new monitor mount for Preston HU3 is ready. It is the same concept as our mount for Arri WCU 3/4. The monitor is as close to the index mark as possible. The handgrip transfers the weight from the wrist to the biceps. It also serves as a docking bracket for a c-stand. The monitor can be quickly taken of with our included CineQuick release. Prototye with dummy HU3 shown here
Premium Member Gregory Irwin Posted May 21, 2017 Premium Member Share Posted May 21, 2017 I have my own Preston mount that goes either with a 17" monitor or a 7" monitor. It can also go hand held. The issue I see with your prototype above is that the HU3 is not centered under the monitor and your wrist will fatigue quickly under the total weight of the handset, monitor, receiver and battery. Just my 2 cents. Best of luck with your designs. G
Matthias Biber
The handgrip is adjustable up and down with a double hinge. It can also be moved side to side on the 15mm rod. The whole idea is based on reducing fatigue on the wrist. The weight is transfered to the biceps. The hand only keeps the thing in place, while it rests on the forearm. Same concept as with our trusted WCU-4 bracket.
