jarredking
Just bought a super 8 Bell & Howell and can't figure out how to set the damn aperture. Is it fixed aperture? Any help would be appreciated.
Robert Hughes
That's an old, low-end home movie camera and may not have adjustable aperture. Shoot a roll of kodachrome outdoors this weekend and see how it turns out. You'll probably find the image is soft focus and a little out of whack, but it may be fine. But don't judge the capabilities of Super 8 by the results of this reel. If you like the look and want to try again with better gear, check eBay for cameras by Canon, Nikon, Nizo, Braun, Elmo, Chinon, or Beaulieu. A good Super 8 camera in working condition goes for $50 - 300. For more info on Super 8, try: http://www.filmmaking.com
