Simon Chin
Is it possible to achieve this long exposure light streaks on a cinema camera? And if so, what kind of shutter angle and frame rate is a good starting point?
Premium Member David Mullen ASC Posted January 31, 2020 Premium Member Share Posted January 31, 2020 You’d need a very long exposure time, so a combination of a very low frame rate and if possible, a shutter angle bigger than 180 degrees. Motion will be very steppy though once stretched to 24 FPS. You might even be below 1 FPS, so more in the category of time lapse photography.
Simon Chin
Thanks David. Would this work if the camera is moving and the talent is moving? Seems like both would need to be stationary... or would it be best to shoot it as a plate ?
Premium Member David Mullen ASC Posted January 31, 2020 Premium Member Share Posted January 31, 2020 You can imagine the results of moving the camera and actor in a time lapse situation.
