Z1U White Ballance

Man did Sony put the white balance in the wrong place. It is right bellow the auto focus button so it is really easy to hit the white balance when you are grabbing a quick focus. I white balance maybe three times a day. I am grabbing focus constantly. And if you hit the focus in a run and gun set up you are in trouble.

I learned, the hard way, about easily bumped settings on the XL-2 when I would have focus and iris drift. When I shot with the Z1U, I always hit the "lock" switch to secure everything. There are way too many buttons to just grab the camera blindly without that lock in place. :)

I absolutely AGREE with you. Another thing I regret is there not being a separate 70 - 100 IRE Zebra switch for checking exposure. Its really time consuming to enter the menus just to switch from 70 to 100 or whatever one wants. Or ist it that I am too zebra dependent?

yes I think that the old and unafortunately too the new camcorders be made for ENG and not for filmaking ... :angry:
