Best place to buy 16mm film.

Best place or cheapest place? Pick one, not both.

Best: new, direct from Kodak or Fuji.

Cheapest: Roam Ebay for something not too old. Ask the seller its original purchase date. Check with Kodak to see if the stock has been discontinued, and when (not much point in shooting 7247 these days). Remember that b&w film lasts longer than color. Assume any old color film you buy will have some squirrely character to it; fogging, color shift, dimensional distortion. You might try shooting it to a lower ASA to lessen the fog level, but that will cost you extra for the pull processing, unless you process it yourself. Don't plan to shoot anything critical with old film, your cost savings may be swallowed up in an unusable shoot.

Check out www.drrawstock.com. They have good prices, and they have systems in place that check film to make sure that it holds up closely to the manufacturers standards.

Another place you can look is www.filmemporium.com. However, I've heard of some people getting dirty film. I'm not sure how well they check their film before selling it.
