Proper Threading

Hello

I bought a stack of films and a couple of projectors at a yard sale this weekend. I know everything about making good DV but don't have a clue on how to thread one of these babies properly. I have a Eumig Mark s-709 projector.

A few questions:

1. Are you supposed to thread the film with the manual knob frame by frame or thread it like a reel to reel tape player

2. I am not getting sound. I have located the volume knob.

3. What is the difference between the S and N switch

4.What is the dial on the back that goes from 1-10

5. There appears to be two routing paths for S and N

6. In the case there are a couple of different adapters for the contraption that is placed infront of the light source for the fram being shown. What is it.

I would appreciate any enlightening anybody could share

Thanks !

Hey there,

I'm certainly no expert on projectors but it sounds like the S and N

are for super and regular 8. Determining the type of films you have will determine

the correct film path. You probably have some super 8 films if you purchased them together.

As far as sound goes you might not have reels with sound striping.

I would suggest going to this website to do more research. You can probably find a manual here for your projector http://homepage.mac.com/onsuper8/

Good luck :D
