Scott Walker
Hi all i have inherited a bolex h16 that high I’m super excited about. I bought some film and whilst watching some videos on loading etc I’ve just found out my camera has double spikes rather than single for the film. Is there anything that can be done to convert the film or anything like that? I really hope so!
Premium Member Simon Wyss Posted July 5, 2022 Premium Member Share Posted July 5, 2022 Yes, the rollers can be swapped for a pair of single-sided. A technician should do that for you. The rollers can be found on internet marketplaces, with Bolex repair people or by taking them from a camera that’s sold cheaply for parts. You will retain the double-sided rollers for the day when you want to do some trick work on film perforated both edges. Your camera is at least 70 years old now, dating from 1952 or before. Maybe you’re inclined to give it a thorough service. In case you decide so I’ll gladly help.
