Matt Pacini Posted October 31, 2005 Share Posted October 31, 2005 1. Yep, a split reel has the two halves, so you can put a spool of film on it, then lock the side on to put on the reminds. 2. A rewinder is the thing with a handle & spindle on it (you need a pair) to wind the film from one spool to another, these days usually just used to make 100ft reels out of 400 foot reels, etc. 3. A tight wind I guess is... winding the film tight? Do an ebay search if you want to see what they look like. There are usually some for sale there... MP I thought that was the name for the outrigger arm on some of the older rewinds, that kinda rides on the outside of the roll.
