Back in the old days, How many screen hours you used to shoot a night?

In an interview with Roger Deakins, He said while shooting an episode for a TV series called "Wolcott", his collogues were amazed by the fact that he shot six and a half minute screen time at night... In my opinion I find this screen time very short. 

 

back let's say in the 80s or 90s, what is the average screen time is expected to be shot in an average day? and what is the average today?
