  1. When lighting for Varicam shooting overcranked footage at 60fps do you need to add light to compensate for the frame rate change? Should I light the scene with the camera in the 60fps mode for monitoring purposes? Thanks!
  2. I'm debating an HMI purchase and wondered if anyone has any experience with the K5600 Blackjack 400. Other than the ability to go tungsten, how does it compare to the Joker/Bug 400 in terms of punch, beam, versatility etc.
  3. Has anyone here used the Kino Flo Barfly, specifically the 200? I've heard it has more output than a Diva 400. I would be interested in using 2 through a frame of diff for a soft key, or using them to compliment my Diva as double edge lights. Are they dimmable, or can you turn off banks? Thanks.
  4. I have an uncoming job that will travel to Europe and Japan. I would normally take my Kino Flo Diva 200 and 400 along but that may be a problem. Kino Flo offers a "universal" 400 which can be used anywhere in the world, but needless to say, I own the US only version . So I have a feeling the Kino's even with an adapter are out. What about my Mole tungsten kit? Should be able to use with an adapter right?
  5. This show is shot with the Panasonic SDX900 in 24p. This is a standard definition camera.
  6. Heard a nasty rumor that the HVX miniDV tape footage isn't as good as the 100A. It seems unlikely but thought I'd see if anyone has been using the old fashioned tape drive and what the results were. Also, how much heavier is this camera than the 100B? Thanks!
  7. I have a client who wants to shoot some boxing scenes that look like, what else, "Raging Bull". My feeling is that 60fps is not really fast enough to get this look, though some additional manipulation in post might get you in the ballpark. Does anyone have an opinion or experience that may relate? If so any shutter speed suggestions? This is for a local spot, not a feature. We just need the feel. Thanks!
