  1. i am sorry to post same question again because last time i did not get any response.I watched Charlie`s angels(part 1) on dvd and I intend to use the look someday.I thought that DP used lots of light from behind the camera to give it overall well lit glam look.apart from it do you think any filter was used to give any soft, glam effect? Thanks lama
  2. The other day I was watching charlie`s Angels on dvd(do'nt know which part, the one shot by Russell carpanter). The reflections of lights is avoided so effectively that it is imperssive.Btw was any diffuser used on the lense for three glamrous actors plus lots of frontal light? Thanks lama
  3. Hi, I am doing my first feature shortly. It involves underwater scenes/shots. Do I need to hire cinematographer specialised in underwater photography? In that case what is the heirarchy in the camera crew? Also embarrassingly I am not much of a swimmer.pl need help. regards lama
  4. Thanks for your help. Can I use polarizing filter indoors also? The filter will eat 11/2 to 2 stops of light. Thanks lama
  5. Hi, how do you light people glamorously indoor or outdoors when they are wearing goggles which can reflect lights in 180 radius. The deal is to not to see lights in their glasses. thanks lama
  6. Hi, I find getting green cast as there is in the film Black Hawk Down very difficult despite using all sorts of green gel, why is that? Also the thicker green once eat up lots of light.
  7. I was shooting in india and the producer after finishing the shoot asked me the cost of the camera (f900) because he wants to buy it.I had no idea.if you can tell me how much it cost in US,I wont be embarresed next time. Thanks
  8. Hi, Recently I have seen a new development in the telecast of the game of cricket(extensivly played in england and other asian sub continent). It is the super smooth display of reply action in slow motion which do not suffer from jerks, which can happen if you slow mo something shot in24-25 frames(or 50 fields).I herd that this tech was developed to track a projectile of a missile or bullet.what is this tech called? Can it be applied to any vedio format(hd,dv, digi beta...) regard lama
  9. hi, I was watching a film on cable called secret window in which the camera dolly in from wide shot of the house through window, inside and goes further... all as one shot.I have seen it other films also. the question is how do they do it. thanks regards Lama
  10. thanks David for your reply. As long as incosistancy is not from shot to shot but scene to scene, it can be managed if you have di option. Can this look be achived using negitive stock and going di?
  11. Hi I was reading back issue of AC(november) 2005,the article is about DOMINO(DP Daniel Mindel). He talks about using reversal stock, cross process it and then follow it by DI. I quite like the stylised look that they got and someday would like to use it.I know that reversal stock has limited lattitude compare to negitive film(specially in highlights).Has somebody used reversal stock and cross process it, if yes what do you think are do's and do`nts of it?
  12. Also check sites like www.dpreview.com where people have discuss about how some nikon and canon slr are little inaccurate about their ASA assesment. It may be good idea to crosscheck it with someone light meter before you go. regards lama
