  1. worked 2nd unit as a loader on this show... everything was processed normal, with the exception of a push one stop on some of the night scenes. different looks were set up with the telecine colorists before, often there are greens and blues put in the shadows... for many setups there would be a set "cool prison blue," or "prison green" look already setup, to expediate post production. stocks used: 5279 for night int or ext., 5274 for day work, and 5218 for certain "big night scenes."
  2. Thanks. thats good advice. i was planning on playing it safe, so the entire production going down the drain isnt blamed on some cowboy dp. . . i wanted to shoot 29. however the production is working off of unused 79 from a prior job. underexpose 1/2 a stop, pull a stop. see what we can come up with in telecine.... thanks again!
  3. Im shooting a music video in a couple weeks. the director and I have been talking about a "look." we love the movie birth and hearing about savides underexposing two stops and pulling two stops (!!!) was a bit alarming. looking for a low contrast softness (which we'll control with lighting) that is a bit murky and washed-out. We dont have the budget to shoot tests. The best I can do is shoot some 35mm stills. Were shooting on 79. Anybody have some experience with this? Thanks! by the way, been reading for a couple years, this is my first post.
