  1. I have a 16mm Reflex bolex. Comes with pistol grip, release cable, case. Also a 13mm Elgeet C-mount lens 2 rolls of film, your choice I have a few to choose from. Pictues on flickr. http://www.flickr.com/photos/92528986@N00/...57623037527844/ Works great, I've shot 10+ rolls of film with it. All body caps included. Switars are not included, already sold. $400 obo. shipping included inside the USA. Would consider trade for shipped canon 1014 xls to 90027.
  2. Hey Ben, I do this to protect myself. 99% of the time the lenses I sell get shipped over to China/Singapore/ETC. They get over there and someone changes their mind and wants a refund I get screwed on $70-$100 worth of shipping. They are also posted on LA craigslist and anyone is free to come over inspect them and shoot a roll if they want to! After you start to sell some glass overseas you'll understand. Until then, to each their own. So, don't bid if you don't like my terms. I'm not hurting anyone and if you look at my number and my participation on this site over the last 6 years you'll know I'm not shiesty or trying to scam anyone here man... (Lebowski). I stand by my terms and conditions. Thanks! Kirk
  3. I put some lenses up on Ebay. Starting at $99.99 each. Shot some great bolex footage with them. I wish them luck at their new home! 50mm Switar 25mm Switar 10mm Switar I'm accepting offers and will end the auction early for someone who is willing to buy them all!
  4. So we've been planning a commercial shoot that will be shown on television. We planned on shooting two DSLR 7D's with nice glass. The producer is a little worried about the new technology and has faith in the trusty Sony F900 that has been used in the past. What do you think? Indoor living room type shoot. One day, small crew. What do you choose F900 or DSLR?
  5. Freakin got screwed on Ebay, guy doesn't want to pay shipping. Cancelled auction. Fee's got refunded. Whatever. Just going to go old fashioned. Craigslist and here. http://losangeles.craigslist.org/lac/pho/1576784313.html I'm going to be selling my prized Switar Primes. So, I have a nice little package here! Three Kern Paillard Switar Lenses! I have a: 10mm H16 RX- 1.6 - $350 25mm AR - 1.4 - $250 50mm - 1.4 - with Hood / Shade $450 Will sell all together for $800 The Focus Rings and Aperture Rings move smoothly. ALL lenses have front and rear caps, all front caps are Kern Paillard Stamped. The 25mm and 50mm had previously been engraved with a personal name, someone then ground off the name and left them marked on the side. The serial numbers remain near the rear element, so I don't believe anyone sanded off serial numbers. I think it was for possession. This has no effect on the lens other than very minor cosmetic. Higher Res pics are posted on Flickr Here: http://www.flickr.com/photos/9252898...7623137429387/ I've heard people love them for 4/3's cameras like the panasonic GH1, G1, GH2 and lots of others. They were originally made for 16mm Bolex Movie cameras. Ask me ANY questions and I'll do my best to answer! I'm definitely open to emails and have no problem with international shipping as long as paypal is secured and completed. I also have a Bolex REFLEX H16 with 13mm Elgeet lens, pistol grip, case etc for $500. Great running condition!
  6. Sorry guys, My lady took the DSLR on a trip and I didn't get pics before, they're from my iphone. I need to sell them asap. Looking for $1,000 shipped anywhere in the us. Sound fair? We'll see if my auction hits that, or I'll cancel it if someone wants them today. Kirk
  7. Hard times have visited us all. I'm going to be selling my prized Switar Primes. I'm still looking to trade my Bolex Rex 2 with Elgeet 13mm for a Nice pro Super 8 camera, but these lenses got to go separately. I have them listed on Ebay, but I'll end the auction for the right offer. Switar Primes Package Images on Flickr Flickr Lenses Hit me Up! Kirk
  8. Alright after 2nd look I have ALL camera caps and ALL caps for the Switar lenses, including a leather case for the 25mm. I don't have caps for the 13mm elgeet. A few tempting offers have been made, but I still haven't found what I'm looking for! To the top! Let me know! Kirk
  9. Hey all, So my editor just finished up cutting a music video for me. The band wanted a single location, 1 day shoot, extremely simple music video. They referenced a few other music videos that basically showed the band in a single location. We started at 8am and shot until around 7:30pm in a small studio apartment in San Diego. For equipment we had: HVX - 200 Fire Store 100 SG Pro 35mm Adapter Canon Primes Nice set of sticks 3 x Arri 650w Open Face lights 3 x China balls with an array of photo fills It's shot at 720/60. I shot at 1 stop over knowing we were going to get some noise. This was my 6th or 7th project with an HVX and 35mm adapter. I think i can comfortably say I do not want to shoot with a 35mm adapter other than a P+S technics and PL mount. I'm over these cheapo adapters, canon and nikon primes from the 70's. They eat light, about 2 stops in my calculations, and I'm frustrated with the back focus issues. All in all, in the future I'll be pushing for more DSLR, RED, and of course film. If and when I do shoot with HVX/EX1's3's etc, I'll push a little harder to use the stock lens and not cheapo 35mm adapters. Needless to say I'm happy with the video, especially for 1 day, 1 location and $150. This post is pre-color correction which I'm hoping to have someone bring it back a 1-1.5 stops. Let me know any questions you have. I'd be happy to answer. And without further ado. Publicists! - Not Hiding
  10. have a full 16mm bolex package I'm interested in trading for a nice super8 camera. My package includes: 16mm body - Reflex The camera is an H16 Reflex with a diopter which is pretty rare for a bolex. The lenses are: 25mm Switar (Worth about $300) 50mm Switar (Worth about $250) 13mm Elgeet Wide angle. The package also has a cable release and a pistol grip etc. Pistol Grip ALL CAPS, etc. A nice travel case and I'll even throw in a two rolls of film. Camera works great! I've shot about 10 rolls with it and everyone came out perfect. I'm interested in a Canon 1014 or 814 preferably XLS I'm open to other models as well. Must have manual exposure and 24 fps. Pics on Flickr!
  11. I picked one of these up recently and it's actually really well built. I love super 8 but getting this thing going sounds like some fun! The lens is nice and the internals look good. I think it can shoot 100 foot rolls, not just 50. The sound film is extinct of course, but if it's used for sound is it sync? 24fps? Could use an external recorder and get some good results. No battery as far as i can see, some terminals on the bottom under a cover. Looks like you could get a cheapo DC power supply and run it off the wall if I knew the voltage. Anyone know these kind of things? Or should i just put it up on the wall for the collection and not bother?
  12. Thanks for your help guys! As you can see I'm a little bit of a noob with using DSLR as a video camera. I'm so used to Panasonic and super16! ha ha ha. So if you were to choose a lens in the 35mm range what would you go for personally and why? Right now our package has: Tokina 11-16, which is sick. Canon 50mm USM, fast at 1.4. Canon 18-135 zoom, probably up for sale soon. I'm looking to build a kit with three primes and one zoom. Enough to shoot a bunch of specs and music videos. Also, I might be looking for a DP in January for a spec I'm directing. Looking for a DP who specializes in DSLR, but mainly outdoor natural lighting. Thanks again! Kirk PS. Hey Satsuki! Hope you're doing well! You still up in San Francisco?
  13. I'm looking to build a lens kit for a Canon 7D. Because it has a 2/3 chip sensor I need to scale down to get a traditional 50mm prime. I love Zeiss Super Speeds and used them with a P+S and an HVX a year back. I can't get over the look. I guess that's why I'm drawn to the 35mm Zeiss. http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/6585...2.html#features My producer really wants to keep the auto focus feature because he could use the camera for stills as well. He really wants to buy this. http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1626...le_EF_35mm.html What do you guys think? If we're speaking purely in shooting cinema and not stills, which lens do you choose? Reasons? Experiences? Thanks! kirk

  16. So, I've been doing lots of research on Flo lights and Kino Flos. I love the Diva 400's and I've used them a lot, bummer they cost almost $1200 with stands. I found these Flo lights FL-220 Any they look almost identical except with barn doors. After searching the forums people say to go kino because they like them more and that the flo lights are just kino knock offs, but no one ever gives an example of why kinos are better than Flo lights. Why are Kinos better? Do they give better light? Do they have a better build? Are the bulbs better? And since Flo Lights come with bulbs that could be questionable, couldn't I buy the nicer "Kino Flo" brand bulbs and put them in the Flo lights? I'm mostly using this kit to do jobs I would pull off Craigslist, interviews, shorts, music videos. Do you think potential Directors would be deterred from the name brand flo light vs Kino flo? Thanks in advance for your answers. Kirk

  18. Hello, I'm very interested. Where are you located? Any pics? Let me know! Kirk
  19. Hey guys, So here are some lenses I came across and couldn't turn down. Unfortunately I don't have a 35mm camera and right now I need a light kit really bad so I put them up on ebay starting at $99. So, I came into these lenses and really don't know anything about them. I researched online, but didn't find too much. They are old. I've been told they are Mitchell Mount, but could be converted to PL mount by someone. They could also be used as is. Again, I'm no expert on any of this so if you have any info on them let me know! Best! Kirk 50mm Cooke Speed Pancho $99 starting lens #1 100mm Cooke Deep Field 4 inch lens $99 starting lens #2 Best! Kirk
  20. Cool, I can't find a ballpark price for series I 50mm Cookes. The deep focus looks like it could be worth over a grand if it had a new mount. Haven't been able to find anything like the B&H online. Anyone know of a mitchell enthusiast group online? I don't really have any use for the film gates etc. Anyone wanna make a gesture of worth? I need some lights and I don't have a 35 cam. Thanks! Kirk
  21. Thanks Stephen! I saw that on their website, but I still wonder. What mount is this? Are these Series I or II? Any idea on the B and H lens?
  22. So I bought myself a new super8 camera at an estate sale today! Eumig 308 Zoom reflex With a roll of kodachrome AND a Macro lens adapter!!!! the best part, no batts left in the camera, clean as a whistle!!! $12 So I loaded her up with batteries and tried a dry run, took a second, but she fired up and started running. I played for 5 min or so and got online to write about it!!! As I was taking the pictures, I heard a little "pop, fizz" I looked at the dog and went on. Then another "pop-fizz" I took the batt compartment off and TWO of 6 AA's had POPPED. I frantically cleaned it all up with a q-tip and paper towel. What happened? .. Also what do you think of the eumig? Pics on flickr eumig 308
