Thinking about flickerproblems. Are there any aftermarket vari.shutters for IIC? The arri III have a 15-180 degree, but the IIIC a 15-165 if I remember it right.

My question is: Is there a 15-180 dergee variable shutter for the IIC? Seems to be some confusion about the markings on the butterfly disc on some models. The highest number printed on the shutter disc is 150 degrees and then there is bit more shutterblade left. I guess when the whole shutterdisc goes behind the mirrorshutter theres a 165 degree opening. Who can replace my 180 fixed shutter with a variable one? thanks

In Avid XPress HD capturewindow theres a checkbox reading "preserve original framrate" or something similar to that. Does this mean I dont need the hardware framratecoverter when capturing for example 60P at 50fps from a panasonic HD1400 deck? I know I dont need it when capturing 25fps footage. Thanks Björn

Problem: Tape shot on a Varicam set to 60Hz (720 60P). Will edit on an Avid XPress. Will use an Panasonic AJ-HD1200A DVC Pro 50 HD deck and Panasonic AJ-FRC27 Framerate converter to get the material into my avid Xpress via firewire. The tape has both 25fps and 50fps material on it that will be synced with a song in normal and double speed for a musicvideo. Is it possible to convert it to 25P or should I try to get it into a 24P project in avid. How do I convert the different speeds on the tape with the framerateconverter? ...and why didn´t we shoot it on film instead? :) Björn

For sale is an Arri 2C. It used to be a medical camera. The camera is in order and I´ve shot musicvideos and similar work with it. The camera has highspeed movement, gate and tachometer. (80fps) The gate is full aperture. (super35) The groundglass is TV-safe with 1:1.85 markings made by cameratech. Lensmount is Arri-standard. All motors and bases made for Arri 2C will fit this camera. I´ve run it with a highspeed Arri motor and a Tobin crystal base. 360 degree swing viewfinder (not arri). The price is down to $1500. Also have 200' mags if wanted. no motor in this sale. Also have a Devry lunchbox with lenses and spareparts that I could let go for $500.

Back home in europe I´ll downconvert to SD on a panasonicdeck and framerateconverter to 25P. Whats the correct setting on the camera to shot 50fps? (60Hz or 59Hz) Also am I likely to get flickering lights at any of these Hz settings? (Im using lots of dischange and neonlights) thanks Björn (sweden)

Hi Patrick This is the only picture Ive got of the handcranks, it also shows the homemade half-spool. And yes aaron the camera is for sale as everything else in this world. Dont have a clue about the price though... Björn

Hi, the core holder is in fact one plate from a broken 100ft spool glued together with a core for 35mm still film. If you buy still film in 100ft length it comes one one of these spools. I fits just inside a modern plastic core.

HI I have two cranks, one original and one homemade. They are the same size but you could have use for a crank with shorter shaft for highspeed work
